Hydrostatic Testing & Cylinder Service
Part of our commercial kitchen suppression service. We perform the pressure testing and cylinder service that keeps your suppression tanks — and your fire extinguishers — legal and safe for continued use.
What hydrostatic testing is
Hydrostatic testing is a pressure test that verifies a cylinder can safely hold its charge. Over time, cylinders are exposed to pressure, temperature changes, and wear. Periodic testing confirms the cylinder is still safe before it is refilled and put back into service. We also provide cylinder service for existing Ansul fire suppression systems when the installed cylinder and service requirements call for it.
When testing is required
Suppression cylinders and fire extinguishers each have testing schedules set by the manufacturer and applicable codes. For fire extinguishers, a 12-year hydrostatic test is common for many types. We track these cycles for you and let you know when testing is due so you stay ahead of it.
Our cylinder service includes
- Hydrostatic pressure testing of suppression cylinders
- 12-year hydrostatic testing for fire extinguishers
- Cylinder inspection and internal exam when required
- Recharge and recertification after testing
- Replacement options when a cylinder cannot pass
If a cylinder cannot pass
If a cylinder fails testing, it cannot be returned to service. We will explain your options for a replacement cylinder so your system is not left without protection.
